Further Notes:

A rare opportunity to try this lovely spicy varietal bottled as a single cultivar. Should you visit the farm, this is the block of vines to the right of the entrance gate to the werf.  This is our first plantings under our ownership. Mourvèdre is the French name for this varietal, and it is normally used as a blending wine in a typical Rhone blend.  We love it on its own too ! In South Africa it is often referred to by its Spanish name, i.e. Mataro. For those learning more about this cultivar, it is interesting to taste this alongside our 2014 Mourvèdre where we had gentle oaking in maturer French barrels for 24 months.
